When updates to Kno2file are available, Kno2 Support alerts organization admins in advance. A new version link, along with what to expect from the latest version, will be available in the alert emails. The options for installing updates include manually installing ahead of the scheduled automatic update, or allowing the automatic update to be installed.
Steps to update Kno2file manually:
Stop the existing Windows service “Kno2.FileService”.
Download and install the latest provided version.
Run the installer.
Be sure to have the following available:
App ID (corresponds to Application Id field)
Key/Secret (corresponds to Client Id and Client Secret fields)
The preferred Kno2 URL for production is https://api.kno2fy.com, even if you were using a custom subdomain in the past.
Upon completion of the installation, review the Windows service to confirm it is running.
If you operate the Windows service with a different identity, update this attribute of the service to log on as the desired user.
What to expect if Kno2file is automatically updated:
When an update is available, the Kno2file service will automatically update if running with sufficient permissions.
If the identity that runs the Windows service does not have permission to install the update, a manual installation will be necessary to resume full operation.
