Installing & Configuring Kno2file

Gather information

To complete the install of Kno2file™, you will need to obtain certain information prior to beginning the install process. First you will need to purchase a license ID from Kno2 Support.

Once you have received your license ID, you will need to log in to your Kno2 application as an administrator. Here you will gather information needed to complete your install. As you follow the steps below, make note of the following information for your organization:

  • Key

  • Secret

  • Public IP Address

  • Application ID

  1. Navigate to Settings > Organization.

  2. Scroll down to API Settings.

  3. Click Create Client Credentials.

  4. Click Copy Credentials.

  5. Important! Paste the credentials into a file for safe keeping and future reference.

  6. Click the Disabled button to enable.

  7. Click Add IP Address to add your public IP address.

  8. Navigate to Settings > Add-Ons > Licenses.

  9. Click Enter Additional License.

  10. Navigate to the Applications tab of Add-On Management.

  11. Copy the Application ID in the APP ID column.


Install Kno2file

You have gathered all the information needed to perform the installation of Kno2file™.

  1. Run the exe.

  2. On the first window of the install, enter the:

    1. Application ID

    2. Client ID (this is the key obtained above)

    3. Client Secret

  3. Click Next.

  4. The information entered will be validated and you will be presented with the Select Destination Location window. This is where Kno2file™ will be installed.

    1. Click Next to accept the default location or Browse to select a different location.


Download Profiles

Next you will need to create a download profile in order for files to be downloaded automatically. Prior to creating the profile, you will need to decide what intake criteria you wish to base the profile on. You will also need to decide where you want the download location to be.

Create New Download Profiles

  1. Log in to Kno2 as an Admin.

  2. Navigate to My Intake.

  3. Check the All filter under View.

  4. Check the In Progress filter under Filters.

  5. Click the Show Advanced checkbox above the View section.

  6. Click Add.

  7. Select a To address or enter a From address.

  8. Click Add again if you want to base the Download Profile on more than one address.

  9. Click Create Profile.

  10. Enter a Profile Name.

  11. Enter a Destination Folder.

  12. Select Export type.

  13. OPTIONAL: Select the checkbox Use Advanced Filename Options.

  14. If Use Advanced Filename Options is checked, select the message information you wish to include in the file name from the Unused column. The Filename Preview field will show an example of the filename. You may re-order or delete message information in the Selected column to change the filename.

  15. Check the Enabled box.

  16. Click Save Changes.


You’re ready to begin using Kno2file. Additional Download Profiles can be configured at any time.

Best practice: Ensure Kno2file™ is running on the server or PC where it was installed and send a test message to meet the initially created rule to verify documentation is downloaded as expected to the specified location.
