Print to Kno2 Desktop

How to enable the print to Desktop feature for Windows 10 computers

Written by Stacy Lane

With Desktop installed, you can send documents directly from any application that supports printing - no need to save and upload separately. Simply print to Kno2 or you Kno2 Connected™ app as you would any other printer, and Desktop will open a message draft with your document already attached.

Before you begin: Your Windows machine must have the Microsoft Print to PDF driver enabled. See Print to Desktop - Enable Microsoft Print to PDF Driver if this has not been set up yet.

Step 1: Print to Desktop

  1. Open the document you want to send (from your EHR or any other application).

  2. Select Print.

  3. Choose Kno2 or your Kno2 Connected™ app from the printer list.

Step 2: Complete the Message Draft

Desktop will open with a new message draft and your document attached.

  1. Select a Type from the drop-down list. Your organization's release types will appear first. The release type acts as the subject line for your message.

  2. Confirm the To and From fax numbers. These may be pre-filled depending on the release type selected.

  3. Enter the patient's First Name, Last Name, Date of Birth, and Gender to complete the audit trail.

    • If your EHR is integrated, you can use Patient Search to pull this information from the patient's chart.

  4. Check Include Patient Details if you want that information included with the message. Once checked, this setting will stay on for future messages until you turn it off.

  5. Add any comments for the recipient.

  6. Select Send Release.
