Forwarding a message will send the original message and any added details to a new recipient. Any existing patient details on the right will also be automatically populated, with the exception of the Patient ID. Any existing attachments will automatically be included, however, you may remove an attachment if you did not wish for it to be forwarded with the message. You may also add additional attachments.

To Forward the message, complete the following steps:

  1. Select Forward from the drop-down list.

  2. Select a Release Type.

  3. Enter the "From" address or fax number.

  4. Enter the "To" address or fax number. More than one address or fax number may be entered.

  5. Optional: Add your message to the Message Body. Any message body for a fax will be included as an extra page inside of your fax.

  6. Optional: complete the patient details for the message.

  7. Optional: to add additional attachments, select the + sign to the right of Attachments or drag and drop the attachment(s) into the box below the + sign. Select a document type for each attachment.

  8. At the top of the form, select the file format for which you wish to send any attachments. Note that all fax documents will be converted to PDF before faxing to the intended recipient.

  9. Select Send.

  10. Review the message summary screen and add the following:

    1. Optional: Message comments – adds comments for the recipient.

    2. Optional: Disclosure reason – internal explanation of why the release is occurring.

  11. Select Confirm to send the message.

Example of forwarding a fax from My Intake.

After forwarding a message or fax, the original will be found using the Responded filter in your Intake and will have a label of Forwarded. From here, it can be opened and processed for print or download, and then marked as processed.
