If your EMR is enabled for Direct messaging, the Forward to EMR feature allows a received fax or Direct message to be forwarded to one or more Direct addresses of the EMR, sending the message and attachment(s) directly into the patient record.
To configure forwarding of messages and attachments to your EMR, navigate to Settings > Intake Download and select the Forward to EMR radio button.
EMR System Address Options
Enter one or more EMR Direct addresses in which to submit Kno2 messages, Direct messages, or faxes, and attachments.
From the drop-down list, select a Kno2 address or Direct address from which you wish to forward messages to your EMR.
Forwarding Options
This allows forwarding of messages and attachments in the file format that conforms to the receiving requirements of the EMR. There are two format options, XDS-SD/CDA and PDF.
XDS-SD/CDA – This option is used for integration with EMRs that are able to automatically import documents formatted in the XDS-SD or CDA structure. If your EMR has been certified for Meaningful Use Stage 1 or higher, it is likely your EMR is able to handle this format. Please confirm with your EMR vendor that XDS-SD/CDA is supported.
PDF – Attachments will be sent in PDF format.
Save Changes
When you are satisfied with your selections, click Save Changes to save the Intake Download Configuration.
