Scanning and Faxing

Aprima is the primary resource for assistance with configuration and training on the Aprima/Kno2 integration. Please contact your Aprima representative or reseller if you have questions about integration configuration.

Prerequisites:

  1. Aprima version is upgraded to PRM 2015 Patch 2 GA

  2. Generic ‘Kno2 User’ Active Directory account has been created. This Active Directory account should have a password compliant with internal security policies, and access should be limited to the minimum necessary to access Aprima PRM. NOTE: Kno2 User will be used in the below API Configuration – 4.b. and 4.c.

Integration Setup in Kno2

Client Key & Secret

  1. Select Settings (gear icon)

  2. Select Organization

  3. Scroll down to API Settings

    1. Select the Create Client Credentials button

    2. A confirmation window will appear

      1. Select the Create Client Credentials for <the current Kno2 instance> button to continue

    3. Store your key and secret in a secure location

      1. Select Copy Credentials to copy to the clipboard

      2. Paste and store these in a secure location for later entry into your EMR

    4. Select the Disabled button so that Enabled will be displayed, indicating that the service account is now enabled

    5. Enter the IP address(es) provided by your EMR (these are the public IP addresses of the server contacting Kno2) – Aprima support can assist in obtaining the public IP address, if needed

      1. Select Save IP Addresses

License and Application ID for Access to API

  1. Select Settings (gear icon)

  2. Select Add-Ons

  3. Select the Licenses tab

  4. Select the Enter Additional License button

    1. Paste the previously provided license key into the text box

  5. Select the Add License(s) button

  6. Select the Applications tab

  7. Highlight and copy the App ID

    1. Paste and store this in a secure location for later entry into your EMR

API Configuration

  1. Select Settings (gear icon)

  2. Select API

  3. Select the “+” sign to add an integration

    1. Integration Type = Aprima

  4. Complete the fields –

    1. Username: <this is the generic Kno2 User Active Directory username>

    2. Password: <this is the generic Kno2 User Active Directory password>

    3. ClientId: <Aprima Client ID, obtained within PRM under Aprima – Help – About window>

  5. Select Add

Intake Download

  1. Select Settings (gear icon)

  2. Select Intake Download

  3. Make the following selections:

    1. Select the radio button Save or Print

    2. Download Options: Standard Download

    3. File Location Options: Patient Folder / Enable Visit Directory

    4. Directory: c:\kno2\

    5. Non-Patient Directory: Check the box and enter c:\kno2NonPatient\

    6. File Format: Keep Original

  4. Select Save Changes

Integration Setup in Aprima

In PRM:

  1. Choose List Editor > System > Fax Server

  2. Search for all inactive

  3. Modify Kno2

    1. Mark as Active

  4. Enter:

    1. User Name = Kno2 Key

    2. Password = Kno2 Secret

    3. Notes = Kno2 AppID

  5. Select OK
